HELP - RULES OF THE GAME
I Know the Score (IKTS) is a great scores prediction game that will keep you and your friends entertained during the 2009/10 Premier League season.

Game Overview
The concept of the game is to accurately predict the outcome of each Premier League game. Points are awarded to a player based on how close their prediction is to the actual score of the game.

Each gameweek you will have the chance to play the Banker and take Insurance. Each of these can be applied to one game each gameweek.

Every player entering IKTS will be entered in the main league. The F.A. Premier League (FAPL) will award prizes based on results in the main league over the whole season and each month. There is also an opportunity to create or play in a mini-league and players can enter up to ten of these.

Scoring
After every gameweek, scores will be calculated based on the accuracy of the Prediction vs the Actual Outcome of each game. Points are awarded as follows:

  • 10 Points for the correct outcome of the match, that is home win or away win, but not the correct score, or goal difference or a draw between the teams. E.g. You predict Arsenal 3 Chelsea 1 and the actual score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 0.
  • 15 Points for the correct outcome of the match with the correct goal difference but not the correct score. E.g. You predict Arsenal 2 Chelsea 1 and the actual score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 0.
  • 20 Points for the correct prediction of a draw but not the correct score. E.g. You predict Arsenal 2 Chelsea 2 and the actual score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 1.
  • 30 Points for the correct outcome of the match with the correct score. E.g. You predict Arsenal 1 Chelsea 2 and the actual score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 2.
  • -10 (minus 10) Points are awarded for an incorrect prediction of the outcome of the game. E.g. You predict Arsenal 0 Chelsea 2 and the actual score is Arsenal 2 Chelsea 0.

In addition to the basic Scoring system described above, there are three additional items that can impact your Weekly score:

1. The Banker - This is played on the game you are most confident about, The Banker will double or treble your points for this game depending on the Banker Multiplier (x2 or x3) . E.g. You predict Arsenal 1 Chelsea 0 and the score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 0, the 30 points gets doubled to 60. It is also the same for an incorrect prediction, so if you predict Arsenal 1 Chelsea 1, and Arsenal win 1-0 you score -20 (minus 20). Only one Banker can be played for each gameweek of games.

2. Insurance - Is usually played on a match where the player is not confident of the outcome. Guarantees a score of no worse than 0 points (zero) for that game. E.g. You predict Arsenal 1 Chelsea 1 and Arsenal win 1-0, but you played Insurance on this game, you would score 0 points. Insurance can be played on the same game as your Banker but will not protect your Banker Bonus should you predict an incorrect match outcome. Insurance can only be played once for each gameweek of games.

3. Banker Bonus - Is calculated based on the number of consecutive times you have correctly played your Banker. Each time (up to a maximum of four) that you correctly predict the outcome of a game (home win, away win, draw) you increase your Banker Bonus for the following week by 10. So if you have correctly played your Banker 3 weeks running, 20 points will be added to your weekly score. See Table 2 below.

Entering Scores and Deadlines
A player enters their scores by going to MY PREDICTIONS. A player has to enter scores before the official kick-off time of the game. If a game is scheduled to start on Saturday at 15:00, a player will be able to enter their score up until that time. The scheduled kick-off date and time can be found on the MY PREDICTIONS page for each match.

A player is able to go into MY PREDICTIONS and change scores and the Banker or Insurance selections up until the game is scheduled to start. This means for example, that if some games are played on a Sunday, the predictions for these games can be entered or changed on the day until the scheduled kick-off.

The Banker and Insurance games may be changed up until the scheduled kick-off of the selected game.

The Leaderboard will be re-calculated at the end of every day when a fixture has occurred and will display the accumulated score of every registrant of the game. The player that heads the Leaderboard at the end of the tournament will win the main prize. All points appearing in the Leaderboard will be based on the Scoring system above. Players with exactly the same points will be deemed to be equal and will be displayed in alphabetical order by their player name.

In the event that there is more than one winner at the end of the tournament, the prizewinner will be selected at random.

Scores can be entered for future gameweeks in advance.

Mini-leagues
Entry into The F.A Premier League I Know The Score competition gives players the opportunity to create and manage their own mini-leagues. Each player can create or play in up to 10 private or public mini-leagues.

The Player that creates the mini-league can control invites and access to their mini-league.

The FAPL will only accept registrations that are 'family friendly' meaning the mini-league name should NOT contain any foul or abusive language or any content that may offend other players.

IKTS will be used by players of all ages and therefore the FAPL reserves the right to reject player names and mini-league names which are deemed to be inappropriate, offensive or confusing.

Standings in each mini-league will be published on the website at the end of each gameweek and calculated by the central database

Gameweek Fixtures
The competition is divided into gameweeks. Within each gameweek fixtures a Player is entitled to One Banker and One Insurance selection.

Abandoned Game
If a game is abandoned for any reason, it will be removed from that Gameweek and added to the Gameweek in which it is rescheduled. If any players have placed banker or insurance chips on the abandoned game, these chips will be re-allocated to the most popular choice that Gameweek.
